In January of 2016, Botanical PaperWorks released an exciting new native species seed papers option to encourage spreading native wildflowers all across North America. As part of their mission to help businesses spread wildflowers to build habits for important species like bees, they shared an educational SAVE THE BEES infographic and encouraged others to share the message. With a mutual passion and understanding of the importance of bees, the experts at Beeproject Apiaries decided that sharing the content on seed paper would be an amazing way to connect with the community on Earth Day. The two brands then teamed up to create an educational and interactive promotional product to inform and educate people about bees.

Strategy and Execution:
To take part in Earth Day, Beeproject Apiaries wanted to connect with the general public to inform and educate them about the sustainable bee practices and how important honeybees are. With a variety of activities happening for Earth Day, The Forks Market (a local landmark) was the perfect spot to share a message in the community. To help them spread the information in a fun way, they chose to hand out 300 educational SAVE THE BEES promotional pieces designed by Botanical PaperWorks.
Printed on eco-friendly seed paper, the recipients could actually plant the paper to grow wildflowers that help create natural habitats for honeybees. The piece would not only inform them, but also gave them the ability to take action right away which would help make the message more memorable.
When recipients found out that the piece was printed on wildflower seed paper, they became even more interested in the message. This was beneficial because it helped the team engage them in further discussions about their mission and overall projects. After learning that habitat loss, chemical use and diseases are creating a decline in bee populations, they were excited to take action by planting their own seed paper after the event.
In addition, the organization noted that the information on our infographic was excellent, and that the print quality was very high. They consider the event a success and hope that people will share what they learned to help spread awareness about the cause.
